Spanish Peak Music Festival - 2019

Wine, Cheese and Digital Board

This past weekend, Code of the West, hosted a Wine & Cheese event! It was a lot of fun and very successful! This event was held so sponsors could come and see our digital board store front, which is an interactive touch screen display which allows our clients to search properties in real-time, research our area, etc. This event showed sponsors that they could have their ad on this display and it would activate an audio/visual presentation of their business for everyone to see!

We are selling advertising slots for your company to be a "Preferred Partner" on the board with an illuminated flier that corresponds to a 3 digit code. When that code is entered on the touch screen it will take you to your website and/or a video etc. We have audio and visual capabilities so some companies are having a commercial play and then directing people to their website.

This is a great way to gain business without having a brick and mortar store nearby! We have plenty of people that stop by the office or call asking for more information on a multitude of vendors in various areas.

Anita Cochran’s The Love Anchors Fund will benefit breast cancer charities and research organizations as well as charities that give support to those unable to work due to illness. Cochran is a breast cancer survivor who found help among many charities herself and is now focused on paying it forward. We are so proud to be able to sponsor such an amazing event. We hope to see everyone there!

Clean Up The River Challenge

Did you know, as of today, 279 volunteers have worked 1465 hours to clear and clean 1250 feet of the River. Not to mention the amazing kitchen crew who cooks each day to feed all of the volunteers. We are projected to have approximately 2 more weeks of cleanup until the Rivers are too high to continue.

Code of the West has donated 2 years in a row to the Friends of La Veta Library and the La Veta Book Nook..

"Run by the Friends of the La Veta Library, the Book Nook provides a continuing source of funds to help support the Library and provides a low cost source of books to the community. Books sold at the store are replaced by a continual flow of new donations."

Huerfano County Sports

We have donated to the La Veta Open Golf Tournament held on August 6th of this year to help support the community’s long history with the great sport of golf!

Code of the West Real Estate was happy to donate equipment for our local youth soccer teams! The equipment has become worn through the years and they were in desperate need of new gear to get kids excited for the upcoming soccer season! Code of the West is always proud to donate to local kids groups and sporting teams!

CAMP 911

We achieved Gold status with our contributions to Camp 911. Camp 911 is a free, one-day camp for youth ages 9-12. Participants worked through a variety of stations with local Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, and Emergency Dispatchers. Activities included first aid and CPR, fire safety, when and how to call 911, and various other safety topics.

We also hosted an autograph signing at our office for Nashville recording artist, Kinsey Sadler. Fans had a blast meeting her and receiving autographs!

Walsenburg Revitalization Project – Casino Night @ La Plaza Inn

Code of the West donated tickets to The Casino Night @ La Plaza Inn.

From the Huerfano Journal:

"On November 5, from 6 to 10 pm, La Plaza Inn will bring a little Las Vegas excitement to Walsenburg. This event is the only fund raiser for Walsenburg Downtown Revitalization Committee. The funds from Casino night support festivals and activities as well as matching money for grants."

This event was an amazing success! We had people from all over the area and out of town come to see Cuchara’s finest homes. Everyone who completes the tour received drink tickets for the Timbers Restaurant and one lucky winner scored a free dinner for two at the Timbers.

Code of the West La Veta Parade of Homes

Code of the West was proud to showcase La Veta’s most beautiful homes during the First and Second Annual La Veta and Cuchara Parade of Homes! Code of the West had a great turnout and also had a virtual tour as well as yummy snacks and drinks at the office for those who participated in the tour. We love to have events and look forward to holding these events each year!

Code of the West Huerfano County Haunted House

Code of the West was so excited for our first annual Huerfano County Haunted House! We had a fantastic turnout and kids and adults alike both had a great & spooky time! We had pumpkin painting, caramel apple station, photo booth, the Mad Scientist from Walsenburg made his appearance along with a zombie room, and other games, snacks, and drinks! We love holding events like these and hope to have more in the future. The staff was so happy to see the community come together and have a great time during the spookiest time of year!

Parade of Lights

Code of the West was excited to participate in the Parade of Lights 2016. We won “best use of lights” award and had so much fun seeing everyone’s floats and look forward to participating next year!

We are proud to donate to our local 4-H. The organization has over 6.5 million members in the United States, from ages 5 to 21, in approximately 90,000 clubs. The goal of 4-H is to develop citizenship, leadership, responsibility and life skills of youth through experiential learning programs and a positive youth development approach. We are so proud to support our local 4-H!

Our sponsorship helped athletes join Head Coach Lindy Mortensen and Grizzlies staff for fun and informative volleyball camps on the Adams State University campus in Alamosa, CO!

Art has played a large role in making La Veta what it is today. SPACe is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) community based and member owned organization dedicated to support of the arts and art education. Resources which support SPACe include community volunteers, membership dues, donations, booth fees from the annual Art in the Park festival and a percent of sales of artwork in the Gallery and Gallery Gift Shop. Code of the West proudly supports SPACe and their community projects.
