• Comanche National Grassland includes 443,764 acres of range lands and 300 different species of birds, reptiles, amphibians and mammals. View the history of the region in the exposed rock layers of prehistoric sea beds and ancient lake shores with dinosaur tracks.

• Koshare Museum showcases an impressive collection of Native American and Western arts and artifacts.

• Otero Junior College is a two-year college offering 56 academic programs located on a 40-acre campus in La Junta. 

• Arkansas Valley Fair celebrates Rocky Ford’s well-known produce with horse races, stock shows, a carnival and rodeo, fiesta and Watermelon Days. 

• The Rocky Ford Museum takes a broad look at the area's history from 1878 to now, including its geology, archaeology, ethnology, industries, as well as everyday life.
